Previous research result shows that adding some amounting molasses into sand mould could increase its re-USAbility. However, the humidity of sand mould will increase if molasses are excessively used. The excessive molasses will produce gases when the molten metal fill the cavity of mould, which at the end become blow-holes on the surface of casting.The research aims to reduce blow-hole defect by adding varied composition of the bentonite molasses into three different mould. The first composition is 6% bentonite with 1% molasses, the second is 5% bentonite with 2% molasses and the third composition is 5% bentonite with 3% molasses.The research result shows that the second composition of the above mentioned substances is the most successful in eliminating blow-hole defect.
